The inception of College was on 5th October 2005 with 100 women students in B.Ed., programme. The strength of the teaching staff is 8 and non-teaching staff is 4.
The activities of the college are carefully planned and systematically implemented to achieve excellence and to give wholesome education for the emancipation of women teacher trainees.
Micro Teaching Programme
Micro Teaching Programme was organized for 100 students for one week duration. The students express their individual performance and skills of teaching before staff members.
Observation Programme
Observation of classes of the schools was organized for 100 students in various schools. The students utilize this programme for the future teaching practice.
Macro Teaching Programme
Our College students do 35 days teaching practice from 43 different schools of Kanchipuram, Vellore, Chennai, Thirunelveli, Tanjore and K.K. District with good performance of teaching the subjects of High and Higher Secondary Schools.
Guest Lectures
Guest lecturers of eminent educationist are arranged to address the students on various topics of academic relevance.
Government officials, doctors, professors and eminent scholars from all walks of life have visited our institution.
Tour
The educational tour is organized every year for 100 students with staff members to the places of cultural importance. The students gather lot of information from the sites which they submit in the form of project.
Camp Activities
Harnessing youth power is the top most priority for the students community. the camp activities is one that has been in the forefront of rendering services to the community and also tapping the talents of the students under the able guidance of the management and the staff members.
Games and Sports
Physical Education is an integral part of education. It is one of the important co-curricular activities of our college. Our Students participated enthusiastically in tournaments held in our college and bag many prizes.
The Annual Sports meet is held every year.
Parent Teachers Meeting
Parent Teachers Meeting is held every year. A casual interaction between the staff members and parents takes place with our Correspondent. Suggestions are sought for the betterment of the student’s performance and excellence in academic activities.
Library
Books are the life blood of great masters. We can familiarize ourselves with these masters through a library the store house of knowledge. In our campus, our library has 4000 books and 15 journals at present.
Model Examination
Model examination is conducted according to the University pattern and re-exams for the weak students and absentees.
First Aid Awareness
First Aid Awareness and individual medical checkup programme are conducted every year by the specially trained people from St. John’s ambulance group.
Inter College Cultural Competition
Inter College Cultural Competition are held regularly to promote the hidden talents of Students.
ICE Breaking
Ice breaking is a stimulating and thought provoking activity that educates and entertains with the intent of leaving a permanent and long lasting impression while increasing communication, conversation and cohesiveness of the people involved. This activity is based on “the mind can only absorb what the built can endure”. An ice breaker activity promotes interaction and socialization which is stimulating the brain body and spirit. Educating student teachers while playing a game and doing an activity is a very effective way to teach. With this noble intention this activity is the foremost one for the students after admission.
